About me
Raimundo Luco (1998) is part of a new generation of distinguished classical guitarists emerging from Chile’s musical scene. He graduated with highest honors from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2021, where he received the “Beca Intérprete Destacado UC” on three occasions.
A laureate of several national and international competitions, Raimundo has developed a remarkable trajectory as both a soloist and chamber musician. He forms a duo with Luis Orlandini, winner of the Munich International Music Competition in 1989. This duo, focused on transcriptions of Classical and Romantic repertoire, completed a successful European tour in 2023 and is currently about to release an album with the prestigious Naxos label on October 24th, 2025.
Raimundo has appeared as a soloist with the Antofagasta Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of the Municipal Theatre of Santiago, and in 2025 he made his orchestral debut in Germany. He has performed in renowned venues across Chile, Spain, and Germany, and has upcoming concert engagements in both Europe and Latin America. He is a scholar of the Friends of the Municipal Theatre Foundation and a Hannabach Strings artist.
In 2023, he was awarded a scholarship from the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) to begin his Master’s studies in Classical Guitar at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart in Germany in 2024. He is also currently working on a new recording project with Genuin Classics in Leipzig, a label renowned for its close association with the Gewandhaus.
